In this double DVD we get to know all about pelagic birding. We begin by taking a look at the main seabird groups and families. Key characteristics of each family are highlighted utilising footage that will please beginner and connoisseur alike. Some commonly encountered cetaceans, pinnipeds, and other marine creatures are introduced capturing more of the pelagic experience. Then we investigate key challenges in pelagic birding including the impact of wind conditions on how birds behave and light conditions on what we observe. The DVD concludes with a section on chum and chumming, which is all about how to attract seabirds to the vessel for close views and photography. Numerous other mini topics intersperse the focal topics such as issues of size illusion, angle of view, and how to get best results with your video camera. The DVD contains about 100 minutes of video footage with full commentary. A booklet is included that consolidates and expands upon all the key points covered in the DVD.
